I took Aidan to a new doctor today for his 2 year old check-up. She was really great and was very patient with Aidan. After being in the room for maybe 10 minutes she said that she would characterize him as having a strong will. My response was "you think"! When I was telling this to my friend Regan she asked me what he was doing, I said maybe it was the fact that he was hiding behind the exam table, or slamming a cabinet door shut, or pulling out the stirrups on the exam table, or trying to escape out the door, or maybe it was when he pretended to choke on a cracker and scare the doctor, or maybe it was when he tore off all the paper on the exam table, or maybe it was all the kicking and screaming during the exam! Maybe just maybe one of those events proved that he might be a little strong willed! Her encouragement was that 2 doesn't last forever. Thank goodness for that! It got better after she left, they did a finger prick. Before I knew it there were 5, yes 5nurses in the room trying to hold him down(he was strapped in the stroller) to put a band-aid on his finger. The funny thing is that this had been one of the better well check-ups I have had with Aidan(excluding the whole 5 nurse thing). He, as you can tell, does not like the doctor one bit!
This visit does characterize Aidan well. He will try absolutely anything to get out of doing something he doesn't want to do!! But if he is engaged and happy then he is one of the most sweetest boys to be around. His new babysitter has done nothing but brag about how well he plays and how sweet he is to the other kids. So its not all bad! I love Aidan so much for his strong will. I know that nothing in life will hold him back. Everything he does he does it with all his might!
Here are his 2 year stats:
Height- 2 feet 11 1/4 inches 75th percentile
Weight- 30 pounds 50th percentile
Head Circumference ??? The nurse gave up on this one. :)
Happy 2 years Aidan!!! We are so excited to see what this year has in store for you!

Happy Birthday Aidan!!
Aidan turned 2 on Friday!! I will post his 2 year old stats and all about what he is doing now after we go to the doctor this week. We had a party for him at the park on Friday night. It was really so nice to be able to celebrate a birthday with family without making a weekend trip out of it! It was also so great to celebrate with our dear Georgia friends, we haven't been able to celebrate a birthday with them since Carter was 2! We also can't wait to celebrate their children's birthdays as well. We did a dog theme because that is all Aidan talks about these days! He had so much fun and so did his big brother! You can enjoy some more pics of his big day here!

1st and 2nd days of First Grade!
I love love love Carter's school! He goes to Mulberry Elementary. I agonized over the decision of where to move because I wanted Carter in a good school. God is good and it seems as though that we hit the jackpot! Its a newer school and its not too big. His teacher is amazing and I already know that its going to be a great year! Carter rides the bus in the morning and then he stays in the afterschool program that the YMCA puts on. We were blessed again here because his afterschool teacher is so nice and I know she loves on Carter in the afternoons. Ryan took Carter on the first day, so the bus pictures are of the second day. He also got some pics of him in his class but they are on his phone and its a hassle to get them on here. So enjoy the pics. Carter is so happy and loves that he can ride the bus and go to afterschool!
The Varsity and IKEA!
Last Friday Carter spent the night with a friend for his birthday. After we picked him up on Saturday we decided to stop at The Varsity for lunch and then we went to IKEA. Its been a long time since we ate at the Varsity and it was so good! :) Then we went to the Georgia Tech Bookstore and to IKEA. I love IKEA!! We found some great stuff that we just had to have. :) Carter played in their play area for kids while we shopped and Aidan napped in the stroller. It was a great afternoon. Here's some pics from lunch.
You can't tell here but Aidan loved his naked dog!
Ryan is always happy here!
Carter and the Atlanta skyline.
That is the Tech football stadium behind us. We're excited to go to some games this year!
Yeah for Internet!!!
We finally have a high speed internet connection!!! Which means that I'll get back to blogging for real this time. :) Who knew that moving to a major suburb that we would have such a hard time finding an internet provider. Well let me catch you up on the past month or so.
July 2nd- We officially moved into our new home in Dacula!
July 4th- I ran the Peachtree Road Race (well not all of it but most of it) and we enjoyed the 4TH festivities at the Mall of Georgia. The Mall is 10 min. down the road, I love being close to all the stores!
July 5th-23rd- We unpacked, got settled, visited with lots of friends and family, and got to know the area.
July 23rd- I had an interview for a Georgia Pre-K Position. (lottery funded pre-k)
July 28th- Found out I got the job.
July 29th- Started with orientation. Yep thats right, I started the next day. I went back to work full time for the first time in almost 4 years. CRAZY!!! But God is good! I have an awesome assistant teacher that has helped so much and I like who I work with. I bring Aidan with me and he stays down the hall, this has its pros and cons but we're going with it for now!
July 30th-31st- We made a quick trip back to Fairhope.
August 2nd-6th- Preplanning
August 9th- Carter started 1st grade!
It has been a crazy whirlwind the past few months, but everything has fallen into place almost perfectly. Its good to know that we're in the middle of God's plan for our lives!
