We had a few free hours on Sunday afternoon. Carter stayed with Aunt Sallie and Aidan was staying with Nana and Papa this past weekend. We wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go hiking. I texted my brother, Tim, to see if he could suggest someplace near the Chattahootchee River. He told us to go to Vickery Creek in historic Roswell. He met us there and showed us around some of the trails. We had a great time and it was absolutely beautiful!!! I was so excited to learn of this park and we will definitely be back. My favorite part of the afternoon was stumbling across the Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee House. My absolute favorite coffee!! Family Celebration
We had a fun little family Valentine's Day celebration tonight. We ate and then the boys opened a gift from us, Memaw, and Nana and Papa. It was a fun night for a Monday!
14
This is the 14th Valentine's Day that Ryan and I have celebrated together. I still remember our first one. It was a rainy night and we went to eat at the Stone Mountain Inn. I was 17. It seems like such a long time ago. Since that night 14 years ago I graduated high school, we both graduated from college, got married, bought our first, second, and third house. We can also throw in two rental houses and yes thats a lot of moving! We have had 2 beautiful boys. We've experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. The important thing is that we have experienced it together. I also know that it's only by God's grace that we are where we are today. I know that God created Ryan for me and I am so very thankful. Happy Valentine's Ryan, I love you!!!

Kindhearted
I'll never look at a peanut butter sandwich the same way! This past Friday Aidan was at Memaw's and I was supposed to meet some close friends for a girls night. I had a horrible headache so I ended up staying home. So Ryan, me, and Carter were laying in our bed watching a movie and we were talking about dinner. Carter said, "I'll get us a snack while we decide." He came back later with 3 plates on a tray. Each plate was labeled with our name and had a peanut butter sandwich that he made and a fruit cup. It was so sweet and caring and the perfect example of the kindhearted child that Carter is. He also brought us oranges for dessert. :) He was so proud that he made dinner and I rewarded his kindness the next morning with a trip to Krispy Kreme. :)
Honor Roll Take 2!
We were so proud that Carter made the honor roll for his second grading period a few weeks ago! We celebrated in true first grade style by going to Dairy Queen for a dipped cone.
