Bless This Mess....

I have often said that Aidan is the messiest eater ever! I mean he needs a bath after every meal! This afternoon I gave him a few chocolate Teddy Grahams for snack. This is what happened, I have no idea how he made such a mess. The picures really do not do justice for what he and the high chair looked like. Needless to say he went straight to the bath and he won't be having chocolate Teddy Grahams again for awhile!

I do love this face, mess and all!

An Accomplishment

I started back running in the last few months. I have actually started to enjoy it during the past month or so. I have a great friend that encourages me and pushes me to go and stay with it. I set a goal to run in the Jubilee Race for Life. Its a 5k in Daphne and I ran it this morning and survived to tell the tale! I do wish that I had done better but I am running in another 5k in 3 weeks and I can set new goals for that race. I am proud that I did it, and didn't come in last! I didn't get any pics at the race but Ryan took this one tonight, its not a great picture but it captures a memory all the same. I try to get out and run at least 5 days a week, and this week I will be adding spin class to that routine. We'll see how that goes!

Road Trip!

I've blogged about Sanders in the past and I can not wait for the weather to get cooler to do more of this! I put Sanders and Aidan in the wagon on Thursday for a walk to the park. It was still crazy hot, but hopefully fall weather will make its way to lower Alabama before Christmas and we can enjoy cooler walks in the wagon!

Apple Trees

Ryan brought home 2 apple trees the other day to plant in the backyard. Carter was very excited to help him plant them. The tall one is Carter's and the short one is Aidan's. I bet you can't guess who came up with that! Carter's job is to water them everyday after school. He's done a great job so far. Here are some pics of the planting of the trees!

Aunt Sallie!

Aunt Sallie came to visit us this weekend! I'm sorry to say that I didn't get a picture of her with the boys this time around. We had a good time and decided to go shopping in Gulf Shores on Saturday morning. These are the only pics I got this weekend. We also had a lot of fun on Friday night playing by the fountain at the pier. Thank you Aunt Sallie for coming to visit!!

Carter climbing one of the light poles.

Aidan is trying to hide his excitement!

Carter tried to convince us that he needed a helmet from the surf and skate shop.

Artist at Work

Carter loves anything to do with art. He drew this when we were at dinner tonight. He was very proud of his zebras and giraffes!!

Look Who's Walking!

Sorry for the horrible quality of the video! Crawling is still Aidan's choice mode of transporation but we are still seeing more and more of this!

Fuzzy Bear

Carter's class bear, Fuzzy, came home to spend the weekend with us! Carter was so happy about this! He has talked about Fuzzy for several weeks. Fuzzy went everywhere that Carter went and he did an excellent job taking care of him. Here is a rundown of Fuzzy's weekend with Carter! Friday afternoon started out with a trip to Mr. Gene's Beans, our favorite ice cream store. Then after some play time at home we went to dinner at Big Daddy's. On Saturday we woke up to a very wet day! We had to run some errands and Fuzzy was a trooper getting toted around in the rain! Then we went to watch the Auburn game at a friends house and he dressed for the occasion! On Sunday we went to church and then to the church picnic! I think Fuzzy has to be worn out!! We wrote all about Fuzzy's adventures in his journal. I know that Carter will miss him next weekend!

Labor Day Revisited

We went to the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola on Labor Day. We have been wanting to take Carter for awhile and this was the perfect opportunity! It was fantastic. I was so impressed with the displays and the amount of different aircraft they had was really amazing. Carter loved it!! We will definately go back. Ryan and Carter also saw an imax movie about fighter pilots while we were there. I tried to watch the movie but Aidan had other plans! It was a great day.

Let's start here!

Sleepover

Carter had his first "actual" sleepover at our house this past Saturday. His friend Caden came over Saturday morning and then spent the night! Carter tried to sleepover at Caden's house awhile back but wanted to come home when it came time to sleep. We love Caden and his family! He and Carter have always played so well together. They had fun playing outside, and then we went to the Week's Bay Estuary. They loved looking at all the animal stuff inside and then raced down the boardwalk to the water. After Week's Bay we went to the Library where they picked out books to check out. Then we went to Sam's and they had fun trying all the different samples. After Sam's we came back home and they played until we ate dinner. After dinner we had a Wii bowling tournament! I will have to say that I took home the victory! ;) They were asleep by 9:30 and up early ready to go to church to play some more on Sunday! It was a great day and Carter was so excited that Caden actually slept at our house!

1 Year Old Stats

Aidan had his 1 year check up the other day. He weighs 23 pounds and is 32 inches long. His weight has finally evened out, that was in the 70th percentile and he's still growing, growing, growing! His height is in the 98th percentile. He has finally mastered drinking from a cup! There are no more bottles in this house! He still refuses to walk, every now and then he surprises himself and walks a few steps. He does do well walking and holding onto one hand. He loves being outside and has started crying at the door to go outside. Think of how much fun he could have outside if he would actually walk! :) He loves to eat, I think right now his favorites are banannas and cheese noodles. He's not talking much yet, still babbling. He also is not a great napper but we are working on a new schedule that will hopefully change that. He still sleeps 11 hours at night though. Here's the big kicker, at 1, he has 16 teeth!! Yes I said 16 teeth, maybe thats why they call him chomper at church! I love seeing his personality emerge and am so looking forward to what this next stage of toddlerhood holds for him!

Where's Aidan???

Whenever it gets quiet and Aidan is not insight he's in 1 of 3 places. 1-the bathroom, he loves the toilet, so whenever you come into our house the bathroom doors are always closed! 2- Trying to get up the stairs. We keep a gate up but every now and then he scoots that way when he realizes its not up. 3. The cabinets. He doesn't play favorites. Any cabinet will do!

So many things to get into!

Yes that's a power cord in his mouth, and no he didn't have it in there for long!

He got stuck in this one!
I've been holding out but cabinet locks are in our very near future!!

Who's This???

Who is this sweet boy?? This is Sanders!!! We love Sanders!!! Sanders' mommy and daddy aren't so bad either! :) I watch Sanders on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays while his mommy, Brady, goes to work. I thought that I had good babies but Sanders is an awesome baby! The bigger he gets the better a playmate he will be for Aidan. Aidan loves Sanders too, I'm trying to teach him to be gentle with the baby! Stay tuned for more posts about the adventures of Sanders and Aidan!!
